Artist Statement

My work exists at the intersection of story, spirit, and culture. I create films, music, and visual art that explore the unseen forces shaping our lives. I explore the spaces we tend to hide, like, grief, faith, memory, power, and the quiet moments where transformation begins. I believe storytelling is one of humanity’s oldest technologies, a way to preserve truth while imagining new futures. Growing up in the South, I was surrounded by deep traditions of music, community, and oral history. Those influences shaped how I approach art. My stories often blend grounded human experiences with elements of philosophy, spirituality, and speculative imagination. For me, art is also a time capsule. Every project captures a moment in my life, It captures what I was learning, questioning, or healing from at that time. Loss, particularly the passing of my brother, forced me to look deeper at the purpose of creativity. It pushed me to make work that is honest and reflective, work that leaves behind a record of what it means to be human in this era. Beyond creating individual works, I see art as a tool for building ecosystems. My goal is not only to tell stories, but to help create spaces where other people, especially young artists, can discover their voice and develop the courage to tell their own. I believe culture moves forward when creativity is shared and nurtured within community.
