“Wild Imaginings,” an exhibit of works by local artist G. Scott Smith, will be featured in the Union Museum of History and Art starting Thursday, August 7, and running through August 29. The museum will hold a special reception on Tuesday, August 12, 5:30 to 7 p.m. for visitors to meet the artist and discuss his work. Smith’s array of art ranges from surrealistic fantasy to realistic wildlife images, reflecting both his roots in North Louisiana and time spent in the southwestern U.S. He works in acrylics, pen and ink, and woodburning. One of his pieces was selected for an exhibit currently displayed at the Courtyard Gallery in West Monroe and another will be featured at the upcoming NELA Music Awards.
