Voices of Region 8: Performing Artist RoundtableDate: March 25th Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Attention all musicians, actors, dancers, theatre artists, poets, writers and other performing artists. This roundtable is a listening session for performing artists across Region 8 who want to help shape the future of live performance, creative opportunities, and arts support in Northeast Louisiana. Participants are invited to share their perspectives on challenges facing performing artists - including access to venues, audiences, funding, technical resources, and professional development. The Arts Council’s role in this session is to listen, learn, and better understand how we can align our work with the needs of the performing arts community. Feedback from this conversation will directly inform the Arts Council’s planning, partnerships, and advocacy efforts moving forward. This evening roundtable will include light refreshments and guided discussion led by facilitator and Region 8 performing artist Sarah O'Connor Siereveld. Free to attend. Registration required. Voices of Region 8: Arts Educator RoundtableDate: March 17th Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Attention all K–12 arts educators, higher ed faculty, teaching artists, arts education advocates!The Northeast Louisiana Arts Council invites arts educators from across Region 8 to participate in a facilitated roundtable conversation focused on listening - not presenting. This session is designed to give arts educators the opportunity to openly share their experiences, challenges, needs, and hopes related to arts education in our region. The goal is not to explain what the Arts Council does, but to hear directly from those teaching and advocating for the arts every day. Feedback gathered during this conversation will help inform the Arts Council’s future planning, advocacy efforts, and programming as we work to better support arts education across our twelve-parish region. This evening roundtable will include light refreshments and guided discussion by facilitator Drék Davis, Region 8 artist, art professor, and Department Head of Visual and Performing Arts at Grambling State University. Voices of Region 8: Arts Organization Leaders RoundtableDate: March 5th Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Attention all leaders and staff of arts organizations, cultural nonprofits, museums, galleries, and theatres! This facilitated roundtable is an opportunity for arts organization leaders across Region 8 to share honest, constructive feedback about the realities of leading arts and cultural organizations in Northeast Louisiana. Rather than a presentation or informational meeting, this session is designed as a listening forum - giving organizational leaders space to discuss challenges, capacity needs, opportunities for collaboration, and ideas for strengthening the regional arts ecosystem. The insights gathered will directly inform the Arts Council’s strategic planning and help guide how we align our services, partnerships, and advocacy work to better serve arts organizations across the region. This evening roundtable will include light refreshments and guided discussion by facilitator Lee Ann Stenvick, executive director of the Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA. Free to attend. The Visual Artists Roundtable is a facilitated listening session created to center the voices of working artists across Region 8. This gathering is not a workshop or presentation, but a space for visual artists to speak openly about their experiences - including barriers to opportunity, professional needs, access to exhibitions or markets, and what support would be most meaningful moving forward. The Northeast Louisiana Arts Council will use this feedback to guide future programming, resource development, and advocacy efforts in alignment with the real needs of artists in our region.
